Lore

Long before Tarkan became a desolate and a lifeless desert, it was known to be a powerful Kingdom in the North-East of the iMU continent. It stood for thousands of years even before Kundun was released upon the world. One of the Kings that sat upon the throne of Tarkan is Ahriman, a wise and powerful king that has led his kingdom to prosperity. He wore an uniquely designed armour made from a rare element which is a hundred times stronger than Adamantine steel, they called it Silsulphide. This element is the result of the advanced Tarkanian alchemy and no other kingdoms could replicate it. One night, he took his horse for a stroll and went to the hilltop located on the edge of the Island. Ahriman’s peaceful night was disturbed when he heard cannon fires from a distance, when he looked over the horizon he saw a pirate ship sailing away, leaving a burning elvish frigate to sink in the depths of Atlans. Ahriman did not care for the troubles of others, but before he continued his stroll, he noticed a shadow crawling its way to the shore. There was something in the air that night that pushed Ahriman to go downhill and check it, he was surprised to see an unconscious elf, a probable survivor of the burning ship. Ahriman quickly carried the elf and took her to the castle’s infirmary. The next day, the elf woke up, and the first thing she saw was Ahriman talking to a servant. Even though she was still weak, she jumped out of her bed and grabbed Ahriman by his neck asking what happened and where she was. Ahriman was unable to reply because of her tight grip, so he communicated with his raven and ordered it to fly in the elf’s face to distract her, the elf lost her balance and fell to the ground. Ahriman asked her to calm down, and explained that he saved her life. She realized it's true because her wounds were completely healed and the servants that tended to her, still hold the bandages they used on her wounds. She calmly thanked Ahriman for what he did and properly introduced herself by telling her name, “Hermania”. She explained to Ahriman that she was the commander of the elvish navy defending the Norian coast from invaders coming from the sea. A few moments later she began to cry and begged Ahriman to help her return to Noria before the pirates invaded and lay waste to the elvish lands. The king saw the fear in Hermania’s eyes and he was moved by her tears. He also realized that these pirates will not stop their plunder in Noria, at some point he will have to deal with these pirates too. Ahriman agreed to help Hermania, he asked the Legionnaires to prepare the army for they will sail to Noria and aid the elves from the pirates. A legion of Paladins were now aboard the Tarkanian ships, sailing with a noble cause to save the elves. When they got to Noria, the field was already burning, but the battle is not yet over. Armed with his sceptre, Ahriman led the charge against the pirates. His horse stomped the ground with immense force that sent the pirates flying through the air and a series of fire bursting chains destroyed the pirate ranks. The rusty weapons of the pirates were no match against them, they could not penetrate Ahriman’s set nor make a dent on the armours of his soldiers for all of their sets were made of silsulphide. The pirates tried to retreat to their ships but before they even got close to the port, the cannons of the Tarkanian armada fired against them and the pirate ships were destroyed. Some managed to escape, others were taken prisoners by the elves. The elves were grateful for Ahriman’s aid, but they were still confused why he helped them. All of the questions were answered when Ahriman summoned Hermania beside him. The Queen of the Elves approached Ahriman to thank him, but as the Queen touched the king’s hands, she had a glimpse of the future. She saw Hermania sitting beside Ahriman in the Throne of Tarkan and their kingdoms enjoying a watchful peace. As Ahriman prepared to leave Noria, he praised Hermania’s fighting skills, he then made a joke and said that “Someday you will make a fine Queen for Tarkan”. Despite knowing that it was a joke, Hermania replied seriously and said “Maybe someday I will sit beside you on your throne as Queen”. Ahriman sailed back to his Kingdom bringing with him his victory and the heart of a beautiful elf that someday will be the queen of his kingdom.
