First off, what is abuse?

The authority figures are here to ensure better gameplay, and a more comfortable gaming experience. If GM's or Mods are harassing you, unnecessarily threatening you, or abusing their powers and negatively affecting the server, you've come to the right place.

If a GM is abusing you in game, please include the following.

Code:
*Name of the GM

*What he/she/it has done to you / others / the server

*Proof and/or witnesses (proof is much more recommended)

*Why you believe they are abusing their power

*Do you believe this action constitutes that they should be removed from power

If a mod is abusing you on forums, or threatening you in-game to use their forum powers on you, please include the following.

Infinity MU community is a fun game-play experience and we're trying to keep a healthy environment for all of our players. However, there are some players out there will try to take advantage of our friendliness and will try to scam you. Read the following tips on how to avoid scam and scammers.

== Tips On Avoiding Scam ==

Here are a few ways for you not to get scammed while trading or loose all your items/account.

*Avoid trading with suspicious characters. Example, There is an elf, without any set or wings that you never seen in game or any other peope from you alliance/guild know anything about, selling some stuff that a new character can't easily get then again use common sense and avoid trading with that person.

*Move to a different location to 'trade'. Theres no reason to move to some location like arena for example if the person is selling his/her stuff in lorencia. That doesn't sound right is it? Something might be wrong here.

*Never trust someone telling you for example, 'give me your items i know a way to dupe them'. Instead take a screenshot and post it here so we can handle that person.

*Never 'lend' stuff to strangers. Example, someone says he wants to try the items before buying. Theres no need to do so.

*Want to sell something for items instead of zen? Make sure you are maxed on zen (2,000,000,000) so they can't buy from your shop for zen.

*If you play on a cafe make sure when you leave the place you are siting you log out so others can't play or steal stuff from your account while you are away.

*When you play on a cafe make sure you change your password as soon as you get somewhere you trust. Cafe might have keyloggers, better safe than sorry.

*NEVER tell your password to ANYONE. Even GM will NEVER ask your password. If someone comes and tell you for example 'hey im an GM and i need to look your account give me your username and password', take a screenshot and post it on the forums so we can handle that person. Also if you tell your password to friends and something is missing remember we most probably won't return the items if we see more than one person logged on your account.

First of all, of course see their name, but sometime a GM use letter like "l" and fake GM with letter capital "i" -> "I" in game you can't see, but u can see their guild, all the GMs are in "Admins" guild, fake GM can't copy the guild name with a capital "i" or "L", so first you check their name and then check their guild, if GMs that are not in "Admins" guild that means they are fake.

To begin you have to get the proper set in order to be able to PVP. While its normal for you to begin at the bottom once you're ready to join the battle fields you may want to gain either a [[Fulloption Set]] or an [[Uber Set]].

In the classic MU you may be used to using HP potions but here in InfinityMU we use [[SD potions]]. These are the potions in the NPC which are located at the bottom right most of the time and are of a purple color.

While PVPing you must be able to maintain a certain amount of potions per second whilst comboing because if you focus too much on combos or attacking and less on potting (healing) you may die.

==Combos==
Combo's are the more complicated aspect of MU. While being simple to execute, they are rather difficult to execute under pvp conditions.

The basic combo consists of starting with your weapon skill such as cyclone, followed by the twisting slash skill, and finally using the death stab or rageful blow skill. Through years of gaming MU online heroes have created their own combos and methods of comboing which include various orders of executing the skills.

Here are a few examples of relatively good combos:

Put 1 as cyclone, 2 as twisting slash, 3 as death stab. In PVP you would hold down the "1" key and alternate between pressing "23we23we" or just "wewewe" and occasionally press 23.

So like this:

== How to measure your pot rate ==

To measure your pot rate, you can follow these easy steps:

*Buy 255 of Large Complex Potion

*Pot as fast as you can within 60 seconds

*Take 255 and subtract the number of potions you have left

*Then take the result from 255-# of potion left and divide it by 60 seconds

*The result is your pot rate

== Example ==

A player pot as fast as he could within 60 seconds and have 155 left from the original 255.

*255-155=100

*100/60=1.6666 pot per second

Another example is a player pot as fast as he could within 60 seconds and have 50 left.

*255-50=205

*205/60=3.41666 pot per second

Here are a few ways for you not to get scammed while trading or loose all your items/account.

*Avoid trading with suspicious characters. Example, There is an elf, without any set or wings that you never seen in game or any other peope from you alliance/guild know anything about, selling some stuff that a new character can't easily get then again use common sense and avoid trading with that person.

*Move to a different location to 'trade'. Theres no reason to move to some location like arena for example if the person is selling his/her stuff in lorencia. That doesn't sound right is it? Something might be wrong here.

*Never trust someone telling you for example, 'give me your items i know a way to dupe them'. Instead take a screenshot and post it here so we can handle that person.

*Never 'lend' stuff to strangers. Example, someone says he wants to try the items before buying. Theres no need to do so.

*Want to sell something for items instead of zen? Make sure you are maxed on zen (2,000,000,000) so they can't buy from your shop for zen.

*If you play on a cafe make sure when you leave the place you are siting you log out so others can't play or steal stuff from your account while you are away.

*When you play on a cafe make sure you change your password as soon as you get somewhere you trust. Cafe might have keyloggers, better safe than sorry.

I've been a GM on other servers: A common reason, or rather "qualification". Please do note the inverted commas. Nobody cares for the experience in those servers. Here, this is a different community, a different server. Commands, NPCs, players' needs and wants. They're all different. So please do not use your experience in other servers to justify yourself. Besides, if you have obtained GM status there, why are you applying for the job here? It just shows your lack of devotion, a definite negative for you.

I can help players by answering their queries: Everyone else can do that. Have you seen players aid each other through megaphones? You don't have to be a GM to help others. So please do the necessary.

Post count: 1 This is a relatively tricky one. Although a low post count does not necessarily mean inactivity, a single digit post count should show your lack of activeness. You could have been one of the most active players in-game but your lack of awareness about the forums will dampen your chances. The fact is that most updates are posted here, so I'll advice you to go get yourself some posts and establish yourself before posting the application. Of course, you do so without spam.

The MU Online player versus player (PvP) system allows players to settle their own differences. Playing the hunter or the hunted adds flavor to the game.

Through MU Online's advanced PK (Player-Killing) system, players can readily engage each other in combat while in specially assigned servers (non-PK servers are also available for new users and for those who do not wish to participate in the PK system). This prevents rampant kill stealing (where players keep following you and killing your enemies to steal exp and items) and lets players settle disputes among themselves.

It is simple to attack another player. While pressing the CTRL key, click the left mouse button over a character, allowing you to forcibly attack another player.

== Self-Defense System ==

If you are attacked by an enemy without provocation, your character's self defense becomes activated. A character whose self defense is activated will not be penalized even though he kills the attacker in self-defense. In the event that an attacker wins a battle, the attacker will be penalized.

== Chaos Level ==

This is a built-in retribution system that will punish all players who kill others repeatedly by branding them as killers. These killers in turn will be hunted by other players who wish to become Heroes.

*HERO : When you are Hero,your name/color is blue,Rate of item drop is 1%,Exp loss on death is 2% and the hours to become a commoner are 1.

== Murderer and Hero Status ==

Everyone starts out with a Commoner status with the player's name in a pale blue colour. Each Player-Kill (or PK) of a fellow player whose name is in a "blue", "pale blue" or "orange" colour will increase your murderer/killer status.
Your 1st player kill will change the colour of your name to "orange". The next player kill you commit while your name is coloured "orange" will change the colour to "red". Then, killing yet another player while your name is coloured "red" will change it to a darker red colour, the 3rd Killer Status. Each player kill you commit after the 3rd killer status will add an additional 3 hours to your time in that status.
To shorten your murderer status, you will need to kill monsters. The monster level of each creature you kill while in killer status will subtract an equal number of seconds from your pk timer.
If a player with commoner status kills another player with a murderer status in either the 2nd or the 3rd degree, then he/she will gain the Hero status.

*Must collect 3 each of the Flame of Death Beam Knight, Horn of Hell Maine,
and Feather of Phoenix of Darkness

== 2nd Quest (Infiltration of Barracks of Ballgass) ==

*Quest Starts and Ends: NPC Priest Devin - Location: Lorencia or CryWolf

*Must be level 400 and have completed the 1st quest, and have
7 million Zen with you.

*Enter the map Barracks of Ballgass and kill 10 each of Balram (Trainee),
Death Spirit (Trainee) and Soram (Trainee).

== 3rd Quest (Into The Darkness) ==

*Quest Starts and Ends: NPC Priest Devin - Location: Lorencia or CryWolf

*If you dont want to do this one,when you killed the Balram,Death Spirits and Sorams,You have to click on Click to Proceed as i remember,but why click it once,click it fast and about 10 times,sometimes if you do it right,it wont command you to kill Dark Elf,you will just get promoted!

*Must be level 400 and have completed the 2nd quest, and have
10 million Zen with you.

*Enter the Refuge of Ballgass which is located inside at the end of
Barracks of Ballgass, and kill 1 Dark Elf (Trainee).
